🌞 A Short History by Duane Burnett
What began as a simple idea — to share the beauty, stories, and spirit of the Sunshine Coast — has grown into one of the most vibrant community networks in British Columbia.
I launched Sunshine Coast BC Canada on Facebook to celebrate our local wildlife, stunning landscapes, empower community and the everyday heroes who make this coast so special. Over the years, it’s become a trusted space for news, events, history, and heartfelt moments — all rooted in the people and places we love.
From ferry frustrations to whale sightings, from sports, events and sunset photos, this page has always been about us — our shared pride, our quirks, our resilience.
Today, as the #1 Sunshine Coast community social network with over 60,000 followers, I’m humbled by the support, stories, and laughter you’ve all contributed. Whether you’ve been here since the beginning or just joined, thank you for helping build a community that’s as real and radiant as the coast itself.
Here’s to the next chapter — and to keeping the Sunshine Coast shining. 🌊🐳🌟
