BACKGROUND: "When Alex and I first moved to the coast we started attending Roots MMA gym (known then as Hollett's Gym but now under new ownership). Alex has been teaching classes there, as has Scott Reinson for quite a few years now. It is a friendly, warm group, of all skills and ages and has a very relaxed and welcoming environment so that people of all sizes, shapes and skill levels can feel safe and encouraged to explore kickboxing and other forms of mixed martial arts. Great exercise and stress relief!!
Sadly, late last fall the water pipes burst in the building and all the equipment in the gym was flooded and ruined.
So we are hosting a charity event to raise funds for new mats and equipment for this gym so that the kids and adults who benefit from this community and this training will be able to continue to do so.
And, if you can't come (or don't want to...lol!...) but still want to support the cause you can give me a cheque or cash to put in the kitty. Otherwise, come on out and join us.
